Gang Grants Workshop

Several programs for gang suppression have been appropriated and are awaiting announcement. Three of the four programs identified here - the Gang Prevention Coordination Assistance Program, Project Safe Neighborhoods, and the Anti-Gang Initiative, provide broad-based funding that follows the needs and strategies of the communities in which these programs operate.

The Gang Resistance Education and training Program provides for the delivery of a more specific curriculum to the community. Even though the G.R.E.A.T. program is more structured, it can serve as a complement to the other, more inclusive programs.

As with all funding it pays to spend some time in considering how best to coordinate funded projects for maximum impact.
